The story

Surinder (Shah Rukh Khan) is a simple, kind-hearted man well settled in the slow humdrum of his monotonous life.He falls for and is married off to his exact opposite, Taani (Anushka Sharma), a flamboyant and vivacious girl who wants to make the most of life.While Tani is unhappy with this unusual wedding, she finds a flicker of respite in an upcoming dance competition.Desperate to make his otherwise indifferent wife smile and befriend her, Surinder undergoes a makeover, assumes a different identity and enters the competition.Complications arise when romantic sparks ignite between his assumed avatar and Taani, who is oblivious to the fact that the two men are the same.
