The story

Indian Air Force pilot Veer Pratap Singh (Shah Rukh Khan) and the daughter of a Pakistani politician, Zaara Hayaat Khan (Preity Zinta), fall in love only to unravel a fate full of misery and sacrifice hooked to their unconditional love. A happy ending does knock at their door, but far too late.
